100k20 initiative (increasing the number of publications by Russian researchers to 100,000 by 2020) was presented at the bilateral meeting. Representatives of 100K20, the official representative of Springer Nature in Russia, presented statistics on the use of CFU international scientific journals and books, as well as the number of access failures due to incomplete interaction between the two organizations.
As a result of the meeting, a number of agreements were reached, and a decision was made to work out the creation of a regional representation of 100K20 on the basis of the Kazan Federal University. A similar project is already operating in the North-Western Federal district on the basis of the Saint Petersburg state Polytechnic University devoted to Peter the Great. KFU is the largest University in the Volga Federal district, included in the "5-100" competitiveness improvement project, and is one of the leaders of Russian University education.
